Location: GrassRoots Padel (this role will be 100% on-site at Grassroots padel – there is no opportunity for hybrid working in this role)
Job Type: Part-time – 20-24 hours per week (6–8 hour shifts, predominantly weekends and evenings)
Salary: Competitive based on experience
Direct Reports: Initially role does not have line management responsibility, but this will evolve as the team is established
Reports To: Club Manager

About GrassRoots Padel
GrassRoots Padel is a new and growing club dedicated to building a welcoming community around the world’s fastest-growing sport.
As well as Padel, the site will also have Athletics (there is track and field athletics) a performance gym offering performance and hyrox classes, a coffee shop and bar area.
We are passionate about creating an environment where sport, social connection, and wellbeing thrive together. As a new club, we’re looking for someone who can be hands-on, adaptable, and ready to grow as the role and the club evolve.
About This Role
We’re seeking a proactive and personable Front of House Manager/Assistant to be the welcoming face of GrassRoots Padel. This role blends managing customer experience on site , daily operations, and general in person and online activities (posting to socials for available slots etc) and support activities for developing our club environment.
As part of a new and growing team, you’ll play a key part in shaping how the club runs - helping to deliver a friendly, efficient, and professional experience for all members and visitors.
What You’ll Do
Guest Experience & Check-In
Greet members and guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
Check players in for bookings and offer orientation to new visitors
Provide accurate information about schedules, memberships, and amenities
Coordinate and host social sessions and tournaments on court, ensuring guests enjoy a fun, engaging playing experience
Proactively engage with members to gather feedback and improve satisfaction
Help explain and manage membership options, ensuring clarity and value for members
Front Desk, Shop & Refreshments
Staff the reception area and shop, managing daily bookings and in-person enquiries
Handle racket hire, ball and equipment sales, and drinks and grab and go sales
Process payments accurately and efficiently using POS systems and maintain proper stock levels
Keep the reception and retail areas well-organised, clean, and visually appealing
Operations & Facility Readiness
Oversee customer and staff interactions across the courts, front desk, and shared spaces
Ensure court cleanliness—including sweeping floors, cleaning glass, and keeping areas ready for play
Help put up and take down netting as needed for court setup
Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify and report any maintenance issues
Coordinate with cleaners and other staff to ensure the entire facility remains in top condition
Maintain health and safety, as well as safeguarding standards, ensuring policies are followed at all times. Escalation of any issues as per escalation process.
Support collaboration between padel and athletics teams, ensuring all activities run smoothly together
Events & Merchandise
Support the planning and delivery of events, tournaments, and social sessions
Assist with setup, registration, signage, and post-event tasks
Manage merchandise displays and track inventory and sales
Team & Growth Support
Support recruitment activities as the team grows
Help train, support, and coordinate front-of-house and support staff as the club grows
Assist in building an efficient rota for weekend and evening coverage
Provide on-going coaching, support and feedback to new team members
Foster a positive, team-oriented environment reflective of GrassRoots Padel’s values
You’re a Great Fit If You Have
Experience in hospitality, sports clubs, or customer-facing roles
Ideally, experience in padel, tennis or other racket sports
Strong organisational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with booking systems, email platforms, and point-of-sale software
A hands-on, proactive approach and willingness to pitch in as needed
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special events
Enthusiasm for padel, fitness, and community-based sport
Basic First aid training an advantage but not essential
